Where the hell is Kitchen Wench?!

Good question.

Those following the blog would have been aware that I’m still in mourning for the passing of Mr Woofy a few months ago and have been rather insular since then…but that’s not why I’ve been M.I.A.

In fact, it’s because I’ve fallen in love.

I’d like to introduce you to my new fur-kid, Mr Tuna.

Mr Tuna is a 10 week old Mini Groodle (Golden Retriever x Miniature Poodle) who was born on 7th January 2012, coming home to me on the 2nd February 2012 – at the tender age of 8 weeks.

As it’s about 12 years since I had to deal with anything puppy-related (while Mr Woofy always acted like a baby, he grew out of the baby biting and barking very quickly), it’s been a very steep learning curve for both Mr Tuna and myself over these past 2 1/2 weeks!

I do have a multitude of recipes and events in backlog that desperately need to be blogged, but please bear with me awhile – I’m still in the honeymoon period where every minute that I’m home is spent glued to Mr Tuna’s side and cuddling his unbelievable softness!

In the meantime, if you want to follow his adventures, you can do so over at my new dog-centric blog: Mr Tuna & Me :)

  11. He’s a doll. I know you’ll both be so happy together. Get a Kong toy to chew on and keep him occupied with treats inside.

    • Thanks Lorrie :) He has four different kongs to play with at the moment but I’m sure he’ll end up getting more of them as I’m such a fan of their range!

  12. awww SUPER cute! maybe some doggy cookie recipes coming up??? puppies are soo cute, but man they get into everything

  13. Love that you have such a sweet new companion. There’s nothing like the love a good dog, and I miss my friend Cleo (black lab-border collie mix) in a way only a new pup can fix…maybe someday for me, too. All the best to you and your family ! Enjoy

  14. Deb in Indiana says:

We adopted a stray cat a few years back, an old road warrior. When we took him to the vet a few days later, the vet asked us what we were naming him. My daughter said “Mr. Kitty.” The vet thought this was an appropriate name, “because you don’t know him very well yet.”

Is there a story behind your naming your doggies Mr.?

    Best to your new baby,

    Deb

  15. I just read your letter to Mr. Woofy and now I’m reading about Mr. Tuna…makes me want a dog so badly now! I’m sure they’d teach me a thing or two about love…It reminds me of a book, “Racing in the Rain” told from the POV of the dog. Great book…Cheers!

  16. Warmest congrats, Ellie, on getting Mr. Tuna. He is quite the handsome fellow. I can see why you’re in love.

  17. Can I please have him? Just for the weekend, maybe?!? He’s soooo cute and cuddly!!… But he’s sure growing quite big!
