It’s ba-ack!
That’s right, the Good Food & Wine Show is coming back to Melbourne next month! I attended the show last year and had a fabulous time. This is one of those all day events where you have a chance to chat to the people behind the products (whether they be the big guns or artisan wares), sample a myriad of different foodstuffs, take part in competitions and even rub shoulders with some pretty crazy chefs.
Perhaps your interest is seeing the Masterchef boys live on stage? I’m not a fan of George Calombaris myself, but can vouch for Gary Mehigan being hilariously entertaining (and just a little bit of a potty mouth). If you’re more fond of seeing chefs hand (packaged) knives to children and encouraging them to run, then may I recommend Matt Moran? Or if you’ve got as much as a thing as I do for French accents, then you may like to know that the hunky hunky, ever so spunky Manu Feildel will have two appearances – one cooking off against fellow Ready Steady Cook chef Pete Evans, and another solo show where he promises to show off his skill with spinning plates!
There are over 200 exhibitors at this year’s show, and many other events that might tickle your fancy…and to kick things off, I have FIVE double passes to give away to my readers!
That’s right – FIVE double passes to this year’s Good Food & Wine Show in Melbourne!

I love all the samples!!! End up too full to actually purchase a meal. But that’s probably a good thing, as I usually end up buying so much that I probably couldn’t actually afford to buy lunch anyway. Granny shopping trolleys are a MUST for this event. SOOOO much awesomeness there, too much to stagger home with. I look forward to the Good Food & Wine Show each year like most people look forward to Grand Final Day. Bring it on!!!!
Meeting all the producers and trying new products is great fun, but to be honest my favourite is the wine tasting (yep Im a booze hound!!!)
Manu! OMG Ellie I love that French dude – The only person who loves him more than me is my mum, so I would definitely take her and we would sit and giggle and be idiots. Then we would go and look at the Le Creuset stand and drool at more Frenchy goodness.
Drooling at the French: It’s what nature intended.
@stefanitza (as if you didn’t know!)
Ellie I’m ashamed to say my fav part is not the watching of celebrities but… tasting all the free food over and over again! Sometimes I even buy a product that I like but it really is all about the tastings for me
I would enjoy tasting my away around the show and more importantly come away inspired with lots of new nifty kitchen ideas I would never have thought of, to try at home. YUM!
I too am a fan of the freebies.
meeting Matt Moran!!! He’s one of my favourite chef! and of course all the food and wine tasting! I actually have never been to food and wine show as whenever I found out about it, it always a few days after the show! This year I am not going to miss out again! can’t wait woohoo!!
I almosstttt went with saying the taste testing and trying of new products but when I came across the show with Tobie and Matt I was excited to imagine them helping me figure out how I will plan my entrance into the food industry…Oo that would be awesome!
@JosephCuzzocrea
Hi Ellie,
I would be really interested in drooling over the cool kitchen gadgets and trying out all the free samples!! Chatting to the producers and finding out more about their products are an additional plus as well
I have to agree that the attraction I’m most looking forward to has to be, Manu!
Manu and a day based wholly around food and wine = my dream day!
I’ve been a Melbournian my whole life and have yet to attend this show! Shameful isnt it. But hopefully that will change this year. I’d look forward to everything! But especially Manu…ohh the french! and of course freebies ;D I also love the atmosphere and inspiration these sort of events have, which encourage me to cook and create!
Btw, thx Ellie for the opportunity!
Would love the chance to rediscover good Australian food again, after being in the States for 2 months!
Are we supposed to tweet & comment? Anyway, have done both!
The samples are always the best bit! But I think trying to see some of the celebrity chefs would be good this year. My friends didn’t have the patience last year.
I think out of that list, I’d most want to see the Ready Steady Cook-off with Manu and Pete. Oh, and please double my chances: my twitter handle is @cloudcontrol.
I’m just looking forward to eating and eating and eating! Is that too greedy?
@jetsettingjoyce
Awesome prize!! I tweeted
Yay!
Thanks to Jetsetting Joyce for putting me onto the blog and the comp
Ooh and what I would look forward too – samples! I love samples! And the wine. I love the ‘drunk corral’ they have there where all the wine tasting is inside those fences. I got so trashed last time I went and it was only 11am. Shame!! hehehee
This year i’m hoping to again see a drunk Matt Moran attempt to cook on stage. Also need to buy more of that delicious Caramelised Balsamic Vinegar – do yourself a favour people and buy it!
Can I also add – Manu – no need for further comment there!
Was I meant to put my twitter ID up here as well? Excuse my inability to use technology!
IfYouSeekAmy_
I want to see Manu do his thang and perhaps some cooking as well I suppose.
One word – Manu! Also love tasting all the food..drool!
Can’t wait!!!
Manu Feidel, you’re right, his accent is to die for. And I saw him make some delicious melted cheese thing on tv one time and would desperately love to taste something like that
I will have to agree. The samples rock! My tummy rules my mind.
manu and the foooooooooood <333
who can say no to either or both!! XD
twitted @racheese
I very seldom win anything but like Billy, I am going for Ready Steady Cook-off with Manu and Pete.

The Good Food and Wine Show is to Foodies what The Royal Melbourne Show is to kids – an excuse to giggle and misbehave, buy lots of show bags and spend the day having fun. So which attraction is floating my boat this year? Why the Lindt Chocolate Masterclass of course!
@mysecondhelping is where you’ll find me on Twitter
The name says it all – Good Food and Wine…
one of the best parts would be to soak up the wonderful buzzing atmosphere..imagine being surrounded by the best chefs, people who could go on and on about food, and the amazing, exciting food itself! also, i’d go for the coffee, chocolate and produce.
I want to go this year to see my favourite chef, Tobie Puttock.
The bonus is that I can take by bestie so we get a day out with no kids!
Thanks so much for the chance
tweeted! nellbe is my twitter handle
Can’t wait for the Lindt Chocolate Masterclass
Would love a chance to go with my husband. We’re fans of masterchef, like you we prefer Gary .. not a big fan of George
@tweetsthewife
OMGG! I would love to go with my best friend in melbourne, but being poor uni student we cant afford the tix
If i could attend it, would definitely love to attend the chocolate masterclass!!!
Indulge all my senses at Melbourne’s most exciting and entertaining foodie event.
being a melbourne girl through and through, i would love to see Gary and George. Not because of their associations wtih masterchef, but their undeniable presence in melbourne’s restaurant scene. gary’s emphasis on great produce is like none other, and george’s contribution to the standard of greek food in melbourne is inspiring. i heard that they have amazing chemstry together and are very entertaining, and i admire their mutual respect for one another. i would love to see a live demonstration of their passion for food, and shamelessly leech onto their every word. I hope that the master class would not only enrich my food knowledge, but i also hope to a candid exposure to a side to them that isn’t available from tv.
Luv the chefs…have had great experience with Matt Moran on a previuos visit. Would love the chance to meet another chef!
Nigella and Anna Gare together. The women with the ability to make any dish guilt free and irresistible. Beside you get to go see all of the dimples on one stage.
