I spent the last 2 hours making a strawberry tart.

And then as I was carefully removing the tart from the tin, it slipped and hit the ground.

This is what heartbreak looks like:

Heartbreak is - the remnants of a freshly baked strawberry tart that has been scooped off the ground

I give up, I’m off to have frozen wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce

oh my goodness! what an awful mishap. I do hope you will try it again soon.

oh no.. poor tart, poor you!
don’t give up! im sure it will be much better next time round. :)

First time my mother-in-law came over, I was cooking something (cheesecake I think) and used a spring-form tin. Did everything right, went to carry it to the oven but forgot to close the spring - the base came out the bottom and splattered it everywhere across the kitchen floor.

I then turned around and made a completely new one (and never confessed).

Clearly I needn’t have bothered - she’s an ex-mother-in-law now!

Kat - I plan on giving it another try tomorrow, but am not sure if I’ll do strawberry…I’ll have to see what I feel like whilst browsing the supermarket aisles!

Iling - I almost cried when it splattered! But I soon recovered and have since been entertaining myself by spreading the tart filling on my dog’s lips and watching him lick it off ;) Every cloud has a silver lining!

Russell - Oh no!! Isn’t it amazing how time seems to slow down for that fraction of a second when it starts falling to the ground, then before you know it it’s all over the floor? It was good of you to go right back to the bench and make another though, I literally threw in my towel and went and sought sympathy in comfort food :P Even though the mother in law is now an ex, at least you’ve got this story to tell ;)

I shed a tear for your tart…

Ouch! Am sorry that happened.. but I sit here and giggle picturing you slathering it on Mr. Woofy’s lips.. tee! I hope you try again soon. :D

Oh no! That is the worst!

Brilynn - Tart has disappeared into the belly of the dog, so at least it didn’t completely go to waste! Mr. Woofy has a very satisfied grin at the moment :)

Lis - Awww, I should’ve taken a picture of Mr. Woofy’s strawberry-fied lips for ya~! Not that I’m hoping that this will happen again, but next time I’m playing ‘paint puppy lips’ I’ll have my camera ready ;)

Peabody - it definetely wasn’t the best day I’ve ever had in the kitchen, but all we can do is dust ourselves off and prepare for another try, hey? :P
