So a week and a half after resigning myself to my illness, I return to the world of the living, though I’m still coughing up my remaining lung (and then shoving it back into the gaping cavity in my chest…hee!). I’ve done a little baking here and there to alleviate boredom, all recipes that I’ve not tried before, so results were interesting!

Food recipes to follow, but here’s an interesting photo…

Fluffy butt…on a chair?

My dog was so eager to get at my brother’s dinner that he climbed onto a chair in order to get closer to his plate. I knew he was a pig in a fur coat, but aiyah!!

Now, I need some advice. I’ve just received an invite to a friend’s hen’s party…and it’ll be the first Hen’s party that I’ve ever attended, and I’m not sure about ettiquette. Am I expected to bring a gift? If so, what should I bring? We’re not the bestest friends ever, but I do cherish her very much and appreciate any time that I get with her (with our individual schedules, this is quite difficult!) and I’m unsure about this whole process.

I’m still in shock. I mean, I knew they were engaged (he proposed to her on bended knee on Valentines Day this year), but I had no idea that they were planning on getting hitched so soon! Waaar…she’s going to be a missus!! I’m so excited that I feel like squealing - except for the fact that my throat won’t really let me speak :(

Am so happy you are feeling better! Yay!!

A Hen’s party? I’m thinking that’s our version of a bachelorette party? All the girlie friends either take out the bride to be or put on a bash in her honor before the wedding.. no men allowed type thing? If so.. we in the US usually do get her a little something.. and that little something usually has to do with her wedding night *wink* *wink* I’ve given lingerie, perfume, candles, uhmm.. “aids” of the uhmm.. bedroom activity type kind? *cough* Also.. it’s more of a tongue in cheek event here (at least for the gals in my group) so if your gift were to slightly embarrass the bride to be, all the more better.. embarrass in a good way, of course ;) If your group of gals are less on the crude side like my friends are (teeee!) I’d stick with candles, scented bath items, lotions & powders.. those sorts of things :) Hope this helps (assuming our 2 countries aren’t THAT different?)!

Make that “than” my friends are.. because they are not “like” less crude about anything.. bless their lil immensely crude cotton socks :D

Ooo, yes yes, bachalorette party would be right. I’m actually not aquainted with any of her other friends (though that shouldn’t be an issue as I’ve never been a shy wallflower ;)). It’s being held in a hotel dining room as a “high tea” mid afternoon function, which is very much her style, so I guess something a little less crude considering the location? But thanks for the info, I feel a lot more relieved now :D

The rest of my friends are also immensely crude - all for the best, I reckon! We should all aspire to be able to make sailors blush ;)
