Bought a Canon 450D on Thursday night. WOAH. Having the amount of manual control that I did with the G7, I didn’t think it’d be *that* much harder, but I was wrong.
It’s gonna be a steep-ass learning curve, but the fact that I think I’m already climbing it pretty well makes me really appreciate the fact that I *did* get the G7 first and learn photography on that before taking the step to a dSLR - I don’t have to spend much time glued to the manual to figure out what everything means (the only times I really look at it is to figure out where the buttons I need ARE), and can concentrate on learning to compose through a viewfinder instead of on the LCD.
Even though this model has got live view (SWEET), I don’t plan on using it too much as I kinda think it’s gonna slow my learning curve if I depend on it.
I’m so in love with it that I want to glue it to my hand. Kit lens *is* good, but I haven’t taken the nifty fifty off since I put it on…mmm, creamy bokeh and sweet sweet DoF.
