For all the shit the Liberals have been swinging in the press about Iemma/Labour and his media monitoring/pr budget, they send out the most HORRIFYING amount of media releases every bloody day. I’d love to set the lot to spam but there are just too many different senders flooding my inbox daily with stupid media release after media release.

Wankers. Though the latest number of Liberal party scandals has me inwardly chuckling quite joyously - hee!

On a seperate note - this article was brought to my attention at work today and had me busting a gut laughing:

Why George Bush gave up golf
From correspondents in Washington

May 14, 2008 01:23pm

Article from: Reuters

US President George W. Bush says he stopped playing golf in 2003 out of respect for the families of Americans killed in the war in Iraq.

“I don’t want some mum whose son may have recently died to see the Commander-in-Chief playing golf,” Mr Bush said in an interview with Yahoo and Politico.com.

“I feel I owe it to the families to be as - to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal,” he said.

Mr Bush said his last round of golf was in August 2003 when he was informed that a truck bomb had wrecked the UN headquarters in Baghdad, killing 22 people, including UN envoy Sergio Vieira de Mello.

“They pulled me off the golf course and I said ‘it’s just not worth it any more to do’,” Mr Bush said.

What I want to know is, so does he still have his golf clubs? And if not, what did he do with them? Ahhh, if he didn’t run one of the world’s most powerful countries, you’d love the bastard for making you laugh.

EDIT: “Why Mr. Nelson, is that a Media Monitors clip you’re holding in your hands? Why yes, I believe it bloody well is!”

As one of the 69% of Americans who think our president sucks, I think that bit about him giving up golf is utter shit. What he should have given up was being president, maybe to pursue golf full time. Or picking his toes. Or nose. I’m not choosy, really. Just hoping that America pulls its collective head out of its ass long enough to elect someone who will lend a shred of dignity back to the office of president.

Pamela - Don’t give up hope! I was tearing my hair out when Howard (Bush’s buttsniffer) won his last election, but I kept hoping for a miracle and it came with our new Prime Minister! You’ve got two great democratic candidates (I don’t agree with all either have to say, but both are a WORLD better than Bush), so just keep your fingers crossed that Bush and his cronies will be ousted from office, and have faith :)

I don’t agree with all that the Dems have to say, either, but I’m supporting Obama. And hoping.

I really enjoy your writing, and Food Blog Sc’ool, and, at the risk of sounding like a total kiss-ass, your photography. Keep up the sass.

I wonder if anyone ever agrees with all of their preferred candidates policies? I suppose it’s a good sign that people don’t, that’s what keeps debate alive and thriving :)

Hehehe, thanks for the compliments, you’ve now made my head swell up to the size of a watermelon ;) Have no intention of stopping the sassing anytime soon, don’t ya worry :)
