What I do hear though is care for pregnant women is just as horrible in private so you may as well go public and save some money for the baby! Nope. Back in December I had my surgery done in a public country hospital. The nurses were fantastic, the anaesthetic didn't affect afterwards at all and the after-care was pretty good too.
