I am beyond pissed off right now.

Why? Because I am trying SO HARD to bite my tongue. I disabled the ability to select text and right click on my food blog some time ago after finding incidents of people copying the photos and uploading them onto other sites, and a few instances of ENTIRE POSTS (not just the photo and recipe, but the entire thing from beginning to end) that had been used to create a ‘new’ food blog under the guise of someone else. I am aware that both these moves annoy some people and that both these moves can easily be counteracted, but the fact of the matter is that my photos really aren’t good enough for someone to be bothered going to view the page source to try and track it down.

At the end of the day - this is my website. I have a right to run it as I see fit, taking whatever measures I think will work to try and protect my work. It may annoy some readers, but the fact of the matter is that I have almost 300 people subscribed to my feed (and that doesn’t include readers who come to the site via bookmarks or links on other pages), so I can’t be doing too badly, right?

So then why am I so utterly pissed off? Because people see fit to abuse me for taking these measures. NOT ONCE during the argument I was having with this person, did I criticize what I thought were faults with her own website, not once did I lower myself to calling her names - so what right does she have to exhibit such nasty behaviour towards me?

There is a really really easy solution - if you don’t like the way that I run my site, THEN DON’T VISIT IT, huh?

That is sad, Ellie. Check out this site…www.copyscape.com

Hope the plagerisers (sp?) will get a life!

Kat, I haven’t had a problem with plagiarism in awhile :) I’m just more annoyed at the people who think that they have the right to tell me how to run my own personal website/blog.

That is sad that people tell you how to run your site, they need to get their own site and life! Take care!

I know exactly how aggravating, annoying, and frustrating it is to have someone steal your work. My daughter is a commercial photographer who does the work for my site. She had someone jack pictures off her deviantart site and create a Valentine’s Day spam that went around the world. With photo credit? Of course not!

i cant believe i never looked to see if you had a personal blog  haha awesomeness more stalkage! shame about the abusers i hate it when ppl hotlink an image so whenever i find out i rename my image and upload their image with porn

kat - I agree entirely! Yeesh, some people!

Lynn - your daughter is quite the photographer, I’ve been in awe of the photos on your blog since I started reading it! I’m so sorry about what she had to go through with the spam thing, what an awful thing to find out has happened with your own work :/

Suze - hehehe, welcome to my ranty page :P I’m gonna have to remember that thing with the porn ;)
