Achoo!

As a result of overdoing it a little yesterday, the cold that my body has been fighting off for the past week has taken hold of my body completely! Sneezes, sniffles, coughs, mucus - oh geezus, WHY?! *sneezes* Well, I did have quite a marvellous day yesterday, after locking myself up with my studies for ages, I was out and about yesterday and taking advantage of the great weather…it’s a shame to think that pretty soon we won’t have weather where I can stroll around in sandals and sunglasses and sit in the sun.

So what exactly did I do that left me so exhausted? I was having a photography lesson with someone whos work I really admire from Flickr, and in exchange I’d promised to bring some baked goods… Unfortunately, I discovered that my baking supplies had run low, so with the shops being closed, I made a different list of things I could bake with the supplies I did have and was up baking them till 3am Saturday morning!

After getting a few hours sleep, I then managed to drag myself out of bed and meet my teacher for the day in the city by midday so that we could get started, and for the next 5 hours we traipsed about Melbourne with him teaching me all about how to frame my shots and look at things such as alignment and lighting! After walking around, taking photos and chatting, I suddenly realized that it was 5pm and that I was meant to meet another friend for dinner at 6pm before we went to see Ross Noble’s show for the comedy festival! Obviously this wasn’t going to happen, so I quickly sent a message canceling dinner so that I had a chance to go home, grabbing some warmer clothes and this other friend’s goodie basket (in exchange for the free ticket). Managed to get back into the city by 8pm and had a quick cup of tea before we headed into the show…

What can I say about the show? Well, at this stage I was quite tired so I probably wasn’t in a position to fully appreciate the humour, but it was pretty funny and he’s a very enthusiastic person, very open to heckling his audience :) While we were walking back from the cafe, I swear to god that Dylan Moran walked straight past me, and I almost chased after him but as our show was about to start, we had to head in fairly quickly.

By the time the show finished it was close to 12, and my lovely partner for the evening offered to give me a lift home which I gratefully accepted, and managed to crawl into my room around midnight…at which time I couldn’t just go to sleep - oh no! No, I was curious as to how my photos turned out, so I spent a few hours checking them on the computer and playing with them before finally crashing out at 2am.

I tried to wake up at 6am this morning to help ma with her preparations for church today, but my body refused all attempts to leave the bed…

And this is probably why my ma says I’m insane.

Lesson learnt this weekend? When you’re body says that’s enough, it’s really time you listened to it.

hee! I love that about the Melbourne Comedy Festival, you’re pretty much guaranteed to see celebrities wandering the streets.

I hope you were able to take some time out for nothing but sleep after all that hectic activity ;)

Hehe, its pretty good, isn’t it? I was pretty wiped the next day and spent it rolling around the house in a blanket, so I think that definitely helped the recovery process ;)
